Facial implants have the power to permanently transform the shadows and highlights of your face. Custom cheek implants can augment cheekbone height or restore volume loss that occurs with age. Individualized jaw implants can masculinize the jawline by widening the lower third of the face or giving a chiseled definition to the angle of the jaw. A chin implant can help balance your profile. Temporal implants restore volume to the temple region, which often undergoes atrophy with age. Implants are made of a special formulation of silicone, which has been time-tested for generations and has an extremely low complication rate.

Consultation

During your one-on-one consultation, Dr. Park / Dr. Hu will listen to your concerns and develop a fully individualized treatment plan to help you achieve your aesthetic goals. We will use 3D imaging and printing software to develop the perfect customized implant for you.

Procedure

During cheek or jawline implant surgery, several incisions are made inside the mouth – next to the upper molars for cheek implants and next to the lower molars for jawline implants. The implant is placed in a pocket that is made directly over the bone and secured in place with a screw, which prevents any migration or movement. The incisions are closed with sutures that dissolve. During temple implant surgery, an incision is made behind the hairline over the temple region, and the implant is slipped into a secure pocket and sutured in place to the deep tissues. The incision is closed with staples.

Recovery

After surgery, you will see an obvious and immediate result. If you had an incision made inside your mouth, for the first week, stick to a soft diet and refrain from eating anything that is too hot or has sharp edges. You will have tenderness and swelling, which is normal and typically diminishes by two weeks. Staples are removed after 1 week. Any sutures that are not fully dissolved are removed on Day 10. By the second week, the majority of swelling will have resolved, at which time you’ll be able to see the full results of your customized facial implants.
